Two New Christmas Sets from LEGO Dropped, Including an Upscaled Mrs. Claus

LEGO has quietly unveiled two new seasonal Christmas sets, just in time for you to start planning your holiday decor—or panicking about where you'll put them. The brick giant announced 40874 Santa's Holiday Countdown and 40875 Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus Minifigure, both set to drop on October 1st.

The Santa's Holiday Countdown set, featuring 873 pieces, looks to be a functional advent calendar with a drum mechanism to mark the days until Christmas. Early reactions suggest it's quite charming, though concerns have been raised about the potential for stickers on the countdown wheel, which could be a fiddly application.

Joining the ranks of oversized LEGO figures is the 904-piece Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus Minifigure. This set follows last year's popular Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure, 40820. Fans seem divided; some are eager to pair Mrs. Claus with her Santa counterpart and appreciate the unique facial print and torso details, while others feel these large figures are taking up space that could be used for more traditional minifigure series. One comment humorously envisioned the giant Santa as a Kaiju city-destroyer, which, honestly, is a mood.

The pricing for both sets is listed at £54.99, US$59.99, and €59.99. Converting this to Indian Rupees without an official MRP is an exercise in creative estimation, but expect these to land at a price point that requires some thought.

If these sets were officially released in India, they would cost roughly the same as 12 months of Spotify Premium. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch for potential availability, though LEGO India's pricing on seasonal items can be unpredictable. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from the global launch date.

The release of these sets continues LEGO's trend of offering festive builds for the holiday season. While the licensed Buddy the Elf set was also mentioned, these two original designs focus on classic Christmas figures. Whether they become permanent additions to your holiday display or just another build to pack away remains to be seen. Keep an eye out for official availability details in India.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
