Microscale Moonshot: Is This Fan Build Worth the Wait?

This microscale creation is out of this world, and your wallet might be too. We’ve seen some incredible fan builds, but this one, a miniature alien landscape with domed settlements and an icy moon, has us looking twice. It’s not an official LEGO set, which means no price tags yet, but that never stops us from speculating wildly.

Marc Linares, the builder behind this, has a knack for detail. The textures on the icy moon are particularly clever, using a mix of pieces to create a believable, frozen surface. The planet’s horizon has that classic "Tales of the Space Age" vibe, while the rockets and domes borrow colours from the City Space line. It’s a compact scene packed with depth, using both studs-up and SNOT techniques to layer the landscape. Even a minifig turkey leg is used as a hill.

The big question is, will this ever become an official LEGO set? There's a chance. Marc has another build, "Village in the Sky," up for voting in the Bricklink Designer Program Series 10. If you're into fan designs, you might want to cast your vote before February 20. If this microscale moonshot were to be officially released, it would likely cost enough for about 15 months of Spotify Premium.

No official Indian store prices are available for this fan build, as it is not an official LEGO set. Based on the complexity and potential for a small set, expect it to land somewhere around ₹5,000–₹7,000 if it were to be released officially. This is roughly the cost of 20 large plates of paneer biryani. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch for any potential official releases or similar fan-designed sets. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
