#LittleGuyJuly: Tiny LEGO Builds, Big Personalities Emerge

The internet is awash with LEGO builds, but sometimes the smallest creations pack the biggest punch. A new online event, #LittleGuyJuly, hosted by Ivybrickss, is proving just that. It's a celebration of quirky, tiny characters that make you see your existing brick collection in a whole new light. Think of it as finding a hidden gem in your parts bin, then building it a tiny personality.

With a theme as broad and accessible as "little guys," the challenge has drawn a huge crowd from all over the AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) world. The premise is simple: build a small character, something with personality, and share it on Instagram with the hashtag. Forget massive UCS sets; this is about creativity with even a handful of bricks.

We're halfway through July, and the submissions are already fantastic. WyndGekko has assembled a diverse crew, from crustaceans to droids, even crafting the cutest thing to inhabit a garbage can since Oscar the Grouch. Then there's baixo_lmmodels, who proves you don't need licensed sets to nail beloved characters – their Spongebob creations are uncanny, especially the crabby boss. Capymocs has turned "tablescrap" into a chibi Chainsaw Man, brilliantly utilizing the CMF shark costume piece.

Even with strict constraints, like gonkos_legocreations' challenge of only seven elements and one color, builders are creating ideal little guys. Alex Lyman is mixing it up with printed elements from Friends, Dots, and more, even building a fish-adjacent character inspired by a sticker. Trolley_hoarse found the absolute smallest guy, while farawaybricks has assembled a whole team of bipeds and oozes.

L.A.Miranda, known for her LEGO dolls, crafted a little guy with ice cream cone thighs that somehow work as fishnets. Blasted_blockz introduced us to RODAGONUS, DEVOURER OF LIVERS (who also plays the lute!), proving "little guy" can also mean rich lore. Chloe Staszewska repurposed the Woodstock hair piece for a tiny beard, and Bamboo Bricks reminds us that "little guy" is about energy, not piece count.

These little guys are weird, mostly harmless, and can be any gender. Brickbytes even recreated Pingu, the claymation star. Dissolved Frog's little crab looks like magic from just a few parts. m1ndxbend3r even proved Batman can be a quintessential little guy. And of course, Ivy herself submitted one.

At the end of the month, Ivybrickss will select three favorites to win a brick-built trophy. So, if you have some bricks lying around, consider joining the fun.
