LEGO Sega Genesis Mini-Console: ₹4,499 or a Wallet Meltdown?

LEGO just dropped a bombshell, and your wallet is already bracing for impact. They’ve revealed a Sega Genesis mini-console set. The US price is a surprisingly low US$40. That is less than a decent dinner for two in most Indian metros.

This isn't some giant, thousand-dollar display piece. This is a compact nostalgia bomb. Think of all those hours spent mashing buttons on Sonic the Hedgehog or Streets of Rage. Now you can build it. The details look sharp from the early images. It even comes with a game cartridge accessory. This is exactly the kind of thing LEGO does well: recognizable pop culture icons rendered in brick form. The question is, can they keep the price reasonable when it lands here?

Now confirmed: MyBrickHouse has it listed at ₹4,499. That's a very accessible price for a LEGO set of this nature. It makes it an easy impulse buy for anyone who grew up in the 90s. Or anyone who just appreciates good retro design. We're looking at a potential strong contender for a quick pick-up.

No Indian store prices are available yet for this set. It’s now sold in India; today’s price is on its set page. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch — code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch.

Verdict: BUY NOW. Reasonable premium — go for it.

Standard disclaimer: got money to burn? Buy it, skip the debate. Everyone else, keep reading.

On that bombshell, bubyee.

Correction (3 October 2026): we removed a US price, and any rupee figure worked out from it, because it isn't the Indian price.
