LEGO Pokémon 72165 Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle: A ₹7,600 Question for Your Wallet

Your wallet is already taking a beating, and the year isn't even over. LEGO just dropped the catalogue details for the 72165 Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle, and the price tag is making us pause. We’re talking 831 pieces, which sounds like a decent build, but at ₹7,600, it’s a significant investment. Is this a must-have for your Pokémon collection, or another one to admire from afar until the price drops?

The set focuses on a battle scenario, featuring Umbreon and Garchomp. While the source mentions an "impressive pair of Pokémon and accessories," details on the minifigure count and specific build elements are scarce. We know it's slated for a 2026 release, giving us plenty of time to deliberate. The scale of the builds is noted as "odd" in the source, which could mean anything from an interesting artistic choice to a slightly awkward final product. Given the price, we’d hope for near-perfect execution.

This isn't a small set by any means, with 831 pieces. That number alone suggests a substantial build, potentially with some interesting techniques or display features. However, the ₹7,600 MRP is a hefty sum, putting it firmly in the premium category for LEGO Pokémon sets. It's the kind of purchase that requires careful consideration, especially when compared to other high-piece-count sets or other collectible lines. We need to see more concrete details and perhaps some in-hand images before committing to a buy.

Official LEGO India MRP ₹7,600. No live store prices are available yet, so we can't compare them. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. At ₹7,600, that’s enough to cover your monthly Spotify Premium for about 16 months. LEGO.in and Toycra are the stores to watch for availability once it drops. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch.

For now, it’s a clear WAIT. The piece count is good, and the Pokémon theme is always popular, but the high MRP and limited information mean we should hold off. Let's see what the official images reveal and if any early reviews highlight significant flaws or unexpected strengths. Only then can we truly judge if this Championship Battle is worth the entry fee.

Keep building, keep dreaming... and don't let your wallet see your LEGO wishlist.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
