LEGO News Round-up: Star Wars, Super Mario, and Batmobiles Dominate

Brickset dropped their weekly news round-up, and it’s a mixed bag of exciting reveals and business updates. Your wallet is probably already bracing itself. The most talked-about set this week is undeniably the LEGO Star Wars 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer. This behemoth is a collector’s dream, but expect the price to be equally astronomical. No concrete Indian pricing is available yet, but given the scale and piece count, this won't be pocket change.

LEGO also gave fans more glimpses of upcoming Super Mario sets, focusing on minifigure-scale interpretations. This hints at a potential shift in their approach to the theme, moving beyond the interactive figures. We’ve also seen new images of the 2027 Super Mario sets, suggesting a steady stream of content for fans of the Mushroom Kingdom. Alongside these, the LEGO DC 76355 Batman Returns Batmobile has been officially revealed, bringing a classic piece of movie memorabilia to brick form. Details are still emerging, but it’s already generating buzz.

On the gaming front, a LEGO Skylines video game has been announced. Details are sparse, but it’s interesting to see LEGO venturing into more simulation-style games. This follows several well-received reviews for other LEGO products, including the Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge and the Mewtwo's Lab Break set. There was also a review of the 60497 Drive-Through Car Wash, which seems to be a decent addition for city builders.

Beyond the product reveals, LEGO announced record revenue and increased profit for the first half of 2026. This is good news for the company, but it often precedes price hikes for us, the consumers. It’s a familiar cycle.

No specific Indian pricing is available for these newly revealed sets yet. Given the nature of the Executor Super Star Destroyer, expect it to be a significant investment, likely costing more than 10 months of Spotify Premium. Keep an eye on Toycra and MyBrickHouse for official listings, though these larger sets often see a 4–6 week lag from global launch. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

The constant stream of new sets, while exciting, means our LEGO wishlists – and our bank statements – are always growing. It’s a good time to be a fan, provided you’ve got the budget to keep up. On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.
