LEGO Marvel Avengers: Doomsday Sets Revealed with New Minifigures

The Avengers: Doomsday movie trailer just dropped, and LEGO is wasting no time. Five new sets based on the film have been unveiled, and your wallet is probably already bracing for impact. We're looking at three minifigure-scale sets, a BrickHeadz pack, and a Doctor Doom bust.

The big news here, beyond the movie hype, is the minifigure selection. For too long, Marvel Super Heroes sets have been criticised for their bland minifigures. But these new Avengers: Doomsday sets seem to be changing that narrative. We’re seeing debuts for characters like Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Sentry in minifigure form. Plus, there's plenty of leg and arm printing, and dual-moulded elements where they count. It’s a welcome change.

The sets themselves include 40880 Avengers: Doomsday Heroes & Villain with 467 pieces, 76347 Avengers: Doomsday Quinjet with 433 pieces, 76348 Epic Battle: Avengers: Doomsday with 846 pieces, and 76352 Avengers: Doomsday New Avengers Tower with 954 pieces. There's also the 76345 Doctor Doom Bust, which comes with 379 pieces. The bust and its included Doctor Doom minifigure are set to release on September 1st, while the rest of the wave will arrive on October 4th.

Doctor Doom is a recurring figure across multiple sets, which is a bit much, but the minifigure detail generally looks sharp. Some fan comments suggest the builds might be less exciting than the figures, with a desire to bricklink certain elements. Still, the potential for new characters and detailed minifigs is a strong draw.

No specific Indian pricing or release dates have been announced yet. Based on the UK prices, expect these sets to be quite an investment when they eventually land here.
