LEGO M-Tron Gets A Fan-Built Walker, But When Will We See Official Sets?

There are some LEGO themes that just hit different. M-Tron is one of them. The striking red and black colour scheme, the iconic magnets – it’s a classic for a reason. But even classics have their gaps. It turns out, according to fan builder Luna S, M-Tron never got a proper walker. A baffling oversight, when you think about it.

Luna S has taken it upon themselves to rectify this historical LEGO injustice. Their custom-built M-Tron walker is a dense, feature-packed creation that perfectly captures the spirit of the original line. It’s not just a visual tribute; this thing is loaded with play features, just like we expect from proper LEGO sets. There’s a smaller, autonomous walker that can detach from the main unit, a nod to the theme’s signature magnetic elements, and even a hidden rover tucked away in the rear. It’s the kind of imaginative detail that makes classic LEGO space so beloved.

This fan build reignites the question: will we ever see an official M-Tron return? LEGO has been digging into the archives, bringing back themes like Blacktron and Space Police. M-Tron feels like the next logical step for a potential revival. Imagine modern building techniques applied to those iconic colours and magnetic play features. The possibilities are exciting, and fan creations like Luna S’s walker only fuel that desire. Until then, we have these incredible fan builds to keep the M-Tron spirit alive. The lack of official walkers in the original M-Tron line is a strange omission, but it’s inspiring to see what fans can create when inspired by these beloved themes.

Official Indian pricing hasn't been announced yet. No specific set number has been confirmed, so we can only speculate on a potential price point if LEGO were to officially produce a similar M-Tron set. LEGO.in and Toycra will be the stores to watch for any future M-Tron releases. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. If this were officially sold in India, it would likely cost roughly the same as 18 months of Netflix Premium.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
