LEGO Ideas Wallace & Gromit (21371) Revealed: A Close Shave for Your Wallet?

LEGO just announced the Wallace & Gromit Ideas set and your wallet is already bracing for impact. This isn't just any set; it's a 1,038-piece tribute to the beloved British duo, complete with their iconic retro motorbike. Available from October 1st, this 18+ set promises a detailed build inspired by the award-winning film 'A Close Shave'.

The set, number 21371, captures Wallace and Gromit in a dynamic pose on their motorbike, with functional wheels for a bit of motion. It’s packed with accessories that fans will recognise: crackers, a ball of wool, and even a diamond tucked away in the motorbike’s seat hatch. The press release mentions it's a great gift idea for dads, mums, or any collector of Wallace & Gromit merchandise. It even originated from a fan designer's Grand Prize winning entry in the LEGO Ideas '90s Throwback' challenge, suggesting a high level of fan input and approval.

Early reactions from the source article show a lot of excitement. Many commenters praised the accuracy of the final model compared to the fan submission, with some calling it "phenomenal" and "nearly 1:1." The clay-like aesthetic, despite being made of bricks, has been particularly well-received, with one user noting, "From a distance, it doesn't even look like Lego. It looks just like a clay model." The set aims to replicate the charm of the animated series, and by all accounts, it seems to have succeeded. It’s a delightful display piece that should appeal to long-time fans and new builders alike.

MyBrickHouse and Toycra will likely stock this 4–6 weeks after the global launch on October 1st. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

While the build and design are getting rave reviews, the price point is definitely something to consider. For a set with just over a thousand pieces, the USD $99.99 retail price translates to a significant investment when it lands in India. The sentiment from many commenters about life being "hard" with so many desirable sets being released suggests that fans are feeling the financial strain. Given the price and the sheer number of exciting sets hitting the market, it might be wise to wait for a potential discount or a deal before diving in.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

Updated 1 Oct 2026: estimated price removed; official Indian pricing not yet announced.
