LEGO Ideas River Steamboat (21356) Officially Revealed — Set for ₹36,499 in India

Your wallet is probably still recovering from the last big Ideas set, and now LEGO has dropped another one: the River Steamboat (21356). This nautical behemoth packs 4,090 pieces and promises a whole lot of brick-built ocean liner for your display shelf. It's not just a boat, mind you, it's also marketed as "Nautical Decor for the Home," which means your significant other might actually approve of this one. Maybe.

The official reveal came via a LEGO YouTube short, giving us a quick look at the finished product. We see a classic paddle steamer design, complete with intricate details that suggest a satisfying build. Think lifeboats, deck details, and that iconic stern paddlewheel. For fans of maritime builds or the Ideas platform, this looks like a strong contender. It's a substantial set, measuring up to be a significant display piece.

For the Indian market, MyBrickHouse has the official price listed at ₹36,499. This places it firmly in the premium category, as expected for a set of this size and piece count. While the Ideas line often delivers unique and well-designed models, the price point means it's not an impulse buy for most. We'll need to see how this stacks up against other large-scale sets in terms of build experience and final display value. Availability is expected to follow global launch patterns.

At ₹36,499, that's enough to buy 18 months of Spotify Premium Family Plan or a very decent 10kg box of premium Alphonso mangoes. MyBrickHouse has it listed at ₹36,499. Toycra will likely stock it 4–6 weeks after global launch. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

The build looks detailed, and the nautical theme is always a crowd-pleaser. However, the price is a significant hurdle. It's a substantial investment, and whether it offers the best bang for your buck in terms of brick-built value remains to be seen. We'll need to get hands-on with it to deliver a full review, but for now, the high price tag suggests a "wait for a deal" approach is probably wise. It’s a beautiful model, but the cost demands careful consideration before hitting that buy button.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
