Your wallet can relax for now, but your imagination? It’s about to go into overdrive. LEGO Ideas has just dropped a challenge that sounds like it was pulled straight from a fever dream, and if past fan designs are anything to go by, we might actually see official sets from this. They’re inviting us to mash up two of the biggest fandoms out there: Star Wars and Marvel Comics.
This isn't just a small contest; it’s a massive undertaking to celebrate the 50th anniversary of A New Hope. LEGO Ideas is simultaneously running three separate challenges: one for Vehicles, one for Characters, and one for Scenes. The goal is to fuse iconic elements from Star Wars: A New Hope with the vast universe of Marvel Comics. Think Luke Skywalker riding a Quinjet, or maybe Thanos wielding a lightsaber against Darth Vader in a scene ripped from a comic panel. The possibilities are, frankly, mind-boggling.
The submission window is tight, closing on November 12, 2026. After that, fan voting kicks off on December 8, 2026, giving everyone a chance to champion their favourite fusion. The ultimate winners, chosen by fans and LEGO itself, will then be turned into official LEGO Ideas sets. This is a huge deal for the LEGO Ideas platform, as it opens the door for fan-created content that blends IPs we’ve never seen combined before. We’ve seen Star Wars Ideas sets before, most notably the UCS Republic Gunship, but a Star Wars x Marvel set? That’s uncharted territory and has the potential to be truly epic.
While no specific set numbers or prices are available yet, the mere prospect of these crossover sets is enough to get the LEGO community buzzing. If these fan designs are anything like the quality we see from other LEGO Ideas campaigns, they’ll be highly collectible. The official crossover comic book is slated for January 2027, so we’re looking at a potential set release sometime after that. Keep an eye on the LEGO Ideas website for the full details and to submit your own mind-bending creations.
Official Indian pricing hasn't been announced yet. LEGO.in and Toycra will be the stores to watch. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch. If these were officially sold in India, they'd likely cost as much as your monthly electricity bill plus a few extra EMI payments.
On that bombshell, bubyee.
