LEGO Ideas 21369 The X-Files Revealed: Build the Truth

Your wallet is already checking for black helicopters. LEGO just announced the Ideas 21369 The X-Files set, and the price is exactly what you'd expect for a deep dive into '90s conspiracy. Forget alien autopsies; this is a 1,478-piece build that promises to bring the iconic sci-fi drama to your display shelf.

The set focuses on recreating key elements from the show, including a detailed build of Fox Mulder’s infamous office. Expect to find plenty of nods to the series, like the "The Truth is Out There" tile, the "I Want to Believe" poster, and even pencils stuck in the ceiling. There's also a forest clearing scene complete with a hovering UFO, and a staggering eight minifigures: Mulder, Scully, Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman, and a grey alien. Gillian Anderson herself even stars in a mini-film celebrating the reveal, which is a nice touch.

This isn't just about building; it’s about display options. Mulder’s office can be opened up to reveal interior details, the forest diorama can stand alone, and the UFO can be detached from its transparent stand. Fan designer Brent Waller, who submitted the idea as part of a '90s Nostalgia Challenge, clearly poured a lot of love into this. He's been working on Mulder's office since 2014, and it shows in the level of detail.

The set drops on August 1st for LEGO Insiders, with a general release on August 4th. And if you order between August 1st and 10th, you’ll snag the 221-piece Scully's Lab (40896) as a Gift with Purchase, while stocks last. That’s a pretty sweet bonus if you were planning to pick this up anyway.

It’s now sold in India; today’s price is on its set page. MyBrickHouse and Toycra will likely have this 4–6 weeks after the global launch. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

Given the price and the fact that it's a niche theme, even with the GWP, it's probably wise to wait this one out. The X-Files has a dedicated following, but whether that translates to mass appeal at this price point remains to be seen. Keep an eye out for potential discounts. On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

Correction (3 October 2026): we removed a US price, and any rupee figure worked out from it, because it isn't the Indian price.
