LEGO Group Reports Record Revenue and Profit in First Half of 2026
Your wallet might be feeling the pinch, but the LEGO Group is doing just fine. They’ve just dropped their financial results for the first half of 2026, and it’s a story of booming business. Revenue is up a massive 21% to a record DKK 41.9 billion. Even when you adjust for currency fluctuations, that’s a 26% jump.
Consumer sales have seen a 22% surge. Apparently, people are still very much into LEGO bricks, no matter the theme. The company claims they’ve outpaced the general toy market and actually gained market share. Operating profit also saw a healthy increase of 22%, reaching DKK 10.9 billion. This growth is attributed to strong sales, efficiency gains, and ongoing productivity efforts, all while they’ve kept spending big on things like sustainability and new factories. Net profit jumped an impressive 32% to DKK 8.6 billion.
CEO Niels B Christiansen is understandably pleased, highlighting the broad appeal of their product range and the "excitement for the LEGO brand." He also gave a shout-out to the 34,000 employees working hard to inspire kids and fans. The growth is spread across the Americas, Western Europe, CEEMEA, and Asia Pacific.
It wasn't just about selling more bricks, though. LEGO launched over 330 new products in the first half of the year. Popular themes included LEGO Speed Champions, Botanicals, Technic, Icons, and Star Wars. They also leaned into entertainment IPs, with partnerships around Formula 1, the FIFA World Cup 2026, and something called KPop Demon Hunters. A significant development is the new LEGO SMART Play platform, aiming for more interactive experiences, already seen in LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Pokémon sets. Even the LEGO NINJAGO theme celebrated its 15th anniversary.
The company also made a substantial investment, acquiring 29 LEGO and LEGOLAND Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments for DKK 1.9 billion. This adds to their strategy of investing in long-term growth, including factory capacity and sustainable materials.
While specific Indian pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed, based on the global revenue figures, expect continued strong demand. If LEGO were to release a mid-range set like the reported 330 new products, at an estimated USD retail price of $70, the Indian price would likely land around ₹6,600. That's enough for 10 large boxes of assorted Indian sweets or a significant chunk of a high-end smartphone EMI. MyBrickHouse and Toycra will likely see these new releases 4–6 weeks after the global launch. Use code ABHINAV12 for 12% off on orders above ₹500 at Toycra.
On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.
