LEGO Donkey Kong Fan Build Celebrates Game Anniversary

Your wallet can breathe a sigh of relief for now. LEGO hasn't officially announced any new Donkey Kong sets, but a fan build is making waves. Daniel, also known as tacobricks, has put together an incredible tribute to the game Donkey Kong Bananza, celebrating its upcoming one-year anniversary. This isn't an official LEGO product, but a custom creation that shows what could be.

The build recreates the game's cover art, featuring Donkey Kong and his companion Pauline. While the official LEGO Donkey Kong character might be a bit stiff, Daniel’s version is anything but. He’s captured the expressive redesign of DK seen in the game. Mixel joints are cleverly used in Donkey Kong’s legs and the surrounding broken terrain, allowing for a huge range of poses. It really brings to life the game's signature move: smashing everything in sight. It’s a dynamic and faithful representation of the original cover art.

This fan creation highlights the potential for LEGO to dive deeper into the Donkey Kong universe. With the game's anniversary approaching, it's a good reminder of how much joy these characters can bring in brick form. We've seen LEGO explore various game franchises, and Donkey Kong certainly has a massive fanbase.

No official set numbers or release details exist for this particular build, as it’s a fan-made project. However, it's a strong indicator of what fans would love to see. The creativity on display is impressive.

No Indian store prices or availability are confirmed for any official LEGO Donkey Kong sets, as none have been officially announced. If LEGO were to release a set inspired by this fan build, expect it to land at an estimated price point that would make you reconsider your monthly Netflix subscription. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch for any future official announcements. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

This fan build serves as a fantastic piece of art and a hopeful glimpse into potential future LEGO releases. It shows the passion of the LEGO community and their dedication to beloved gaming icons.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.
