LEGO Delorean Reimagined as Buzz Lightyear Spaceship

Your wallet is safe. For now. LEGO announced a new set, and it is definitely not the one you are thinking of. This is not a new UCS Millennium Falcon or the next big Star Wars UCS. This is… different. A Canadian LEGO fan, Matthew Sklar, has taken a DeLorean DMC-12 and done something truly unexpected. He has turned it into a spaceship inspired by Buzz Lightyear’s XL-15 from the movie Lightyear.

This is not an official LEGO set. It is a fan creation. Sklar was apparently working on his car, a DeLorean, and got the itch to upgrade. It started with simple maintenance, like changing the oil and checking the coolant. Then, the upgrades began. He swapped out the radiator, and then the flux capacitors. Before he knew it, his DeLorean was no longer just a car. It was a spaceship capable of interspatial flight, boasting a top speed far exceeding 88 miles per hour.

The Brothers Brick featured this incredible build, highlighting the creative fusion of pop culture elements. It’s proof of what fans can achieve with LEGO bricks and a bit of imagination. While this particular build is not a commercially available set, it does spark the imagination about what LEGO could potentially create in the future. Imagine a hybrid set that blends iconic vehicles from different universes.

No official set number has been released for this creation, and it is unlikely to be. However, the concept itself is fascinating. If LEGO were to ever release something similar, it would undoubtedly be a high-piece-count set, likely aimed at the adult collector market. The price would be considerable, making it a significant purchase for any fan.

If this fan-made marvel were to be officially released in India, expect a price tag that would make your eyes water. While no specific set number or price is available, based on similar large, licensed fan-inspired builds, we are looking at a potential cost equivalent to 18 months of Netflix Premium. Keep an eye on MyBrickHouse and Toycra for any future official releases, though this particular creation is likely to remain a fan-built exclusive. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

It serves as a reminder that the LEGO community is constantly pushing boundaries and creating amazing things. Whether it's a meticulously recreated movie prop or a wild mashup like this DeLorean-XL15, the passion for building is undeniable. This build is a fun example of fan creativity and a bit of automotive and sci-fi dream-building.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
