LEGO Deals at Argos: Save on Pokémon SMART Play and More Before September 8th

Argos is running a promotion that might tickle your fancy, especially if you’ve been eyeing those new Pokémon SMART Play sets. Spend £50, get £10 off. Spend £100, get £20 off. Spend £200, and they’ll knock £40 off your total. Just remember to punch in the code LEGO at checkout. This deal is live until September 8th.

The kicker here is the mention of the new Pokémon SMART Play sets. While LEGO hasn't officially released specific set numbers for these in India yet, the UK deal suggests they are part of the promotion. This is a good heads-up for anyone looking to snag them at a slight discount soon after launch. The article suggests a strategy: split your purchases into multiple orders to hit those discount thresholds precisely. If you were planning on buying, say, a £100 set and a £50 set, buying them separately could net you £30 in discounts instead of just £20. Clever.

It’s not just Argos, though. John Lewis has its own set of deals running, offering £10 off £70, £15 off £100, or a hefty £45 off £300 on selected LEGO items. Apparently, you need a promo code found on the product page for that one. Always a discount is a discount, right?

However, a word of caution from the forum. One user pointed out that Argos has a history of shipping LEGO sets in plastic bags, which can lead to damaged boxes. This seems to depend on the set size. Smaller sets like Microfighters or Speed Champions might still arrive in less-than-ideal packaging. Larger sets, however, are sometimes shipped in their original boxes inside a larger outer box. So, if box condition is paramount, you might want to proceed with a bit of caution.

No official Indian pricing or availability for these specific Pokémon SMART Play sets has been announced by LEGO India. Based on similar promotions in the UK, expect these to land at an estimated price point that makes them comparable to a few months of Netflix Premium. MyBrickHouse and Toycra will be the stores to watch for future availability. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

This Argos promotion is a decent opportunity to save some cash if you’re already planning a significant LEGO haul. Just weigh the potential discount against the risk of a damaged box. For the new Pokémon sets, keep an eye on local retailers; we'll update you once we have concrete India pricing.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.
