LEGO BrickLink Designer Program: Apple Orchard (2028) Voting Now Open

Another year, another BrickLink Designer Program, and your wallet is already bracing for impact. We've seen some truly ambitious fan designs come out of BDP, and the latest wave is no exception. Among the entries is "Apple Orchard," a charming build that promises to bring a touch of autumnal harvest to your LEGO town.

The Apple Orchard model focuses on a quaint, fall-themed location. It features trees designed with curved tube elements, deviating from the more angular Technic pieces often seen. A unique clear piece is used to simulate falling leaves caught in the wind, adding a dynamic visual touch. The ground level is packed with seasonal details: apples, pumpkins, hay, and even a scarecrow. Essential equipment like a cider press, chainsaw, and leaf blower are also included.

The main building itself is designed with SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques for interesting wall and window construction. Inside, the market area is accessible by removing the rear wall and upper floor. Shelves and tables are laden with apples and baked goods, and a fireplace can be removed to reveal a hidden spider. The design echoes the cozy feel of LEGO's own Winter Village series, with a small cottage housing a shop. The model includes a play feature where pushing an axle from behind can knock an apple off a tree. The upper floor contains a bed, chair, second fireplace, and a bookshelf, suggesting the shop owner’s living quarters.

While the source article mentions the designer experimented with various rooftops and window designs, and included five autumn-coded figures, specific details about the minifigure count or the exact piece count for the Apple Orchard are not provided in this initial announcement. The source notes that winning BDP models are sometimes improved upon before release, hinting that elements like a vintage truck prototype and additional trees might be added if the model is selected.

This BDP entry is currently open for voting. If you’re a fan of seasonal displays, charming village scenes, or just appreciate creative building techniques, this Apple Orchard might be worth casting your vote for.

Official Indian pricing hasn't been announced yet. LEGO.in and Toycra are the stores to watch for potential availability. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. If this set were to be released officially in India, it would likely be priced in a similar range to a high-end smartphone.

Verdict: WAIT — check prices at LEGO.in and Toycra before pulling the trigger.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
