LEGO Architecture 21065 Sagrada Família Revealed: A Record-Breaking Masterpiece?

LEGO Architecture is tackling Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Família, with set 21065. This isn't just another building. It's a structure that's been under construction for over 140 years, finally getting its tallest tower this year. And now, it's set to become the LEGO set with the biggest piece count in the world. That's a serious claim, and frankly, my wallet is already bracing itself.

The new set aims to capture the intricate details and unique design of Gaudí's iconic basilica. While the source article doesn't give us exact piece counts or dimensions, the mention of a world record piece count suggests this will be a substantial build. Architecture sets can sometimes be more about the display value than the building experience, but with a piece count that’s reportedly record-breaking, we can hope for some interesting building techniques and a satisfying construction process.

We're still waiting on official confirmation of the piece count, the exact dimensions, and most importantly, the price. However, the news that this will be the LEGO set with the largest number of pieces ever produced is certainly attention-grabbing. It raises questions about how LEGO will translate the complex facades and organic shapes of the Sagrada Família into LEGO bricks on such a massive scale. This feels like a set designed for dedicated builders and architecture fans who appreciate both the subject matter and a significant building challenge.

The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its ongoing construction is proof of Gaudí's visionary approach. Bringing this structure into the LEGO world, especially with a record-breaking piece count, is an ambitious move by LEGO. We'll be watching closely for more details, particularly the final piece count and the price tag, as this could be a landmark release for the Architecture line.

MyBrickHouse and Toycra will likely have this available 4–6 weeks after global launch; check both for availability and any potential launch-day offers. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

This set is positioned as a premium display piece, and we expect the price to reflect that. Whether it lives up to the hype of a record-breaking piece count and the challenge of replicating Gaudí's work remains to be seen. For now, it’s a case of watching this space for more concrete details.

On that bombshell...

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.
