LEGO 2049 (American Muscle from the Year 2049): Fan Build Reimagines Future Muscle Cars

This isn't official LEGO news, but a fan build concept that dreams up what American muscle cars might look like in 2049. Sérgio Batista has taken the muscle car formula and given it a futuristic, flying retro-mod twist. Think less drag strip, more sky-high cruising.

Batista's vision reimagines iconic models like the Dodge Charger, complete with engines that appear to be sticking out of the bonnet. It’s a creative use of greebling and parts, turning classic car designs into something straight out of a sci-fi movie. The Speed Champions rims are repurposed as cam pulleys, a neat detail that shows off some clever part usage.

He also applied this futuristic treatment to an official LEGO Speed Champions set, the Corvette Stingray. The modifications here are equally striking, with the C8 spinner element being a particularly inspired way to reinterpret the car's design. These are not official sets, mind you, but rather MOCs (My Own Creations) that showcase what fans can do with LEGO bricks.

The Brothers Brick featured these builds, highlighting the creativity involved. While there are no official LEGO sets directly based on these specific designs, they tap into the enduring appeal of muscle cars and the potential for LEGO to explore futuristic themes. It’s a reminder that the LEGO world extends far beyond the official retail shelves, with fan creations constantly pushing boundaries.

No official India retail price is available for this fan build. Based on the potential complexity and part usage, if this were an official set released in India, it would likely be priced around ₹18,000–20,000. That's roughly the cost of 15 months of Spotify Premium. MyBrickHouse and Toycra will not be stocking this, as it is not an official LEGO release. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

These MOCs are a great source of inspiration for builders looking to customize their existing sets or create something entirely new. The blend of retro design and futuristic elements is a compelling aesthetic that LEGO could potentially explore further in future Speed Champions or Creator Expert lines. For now, these remain purely fan-driven concepts, showcasing imagination and brick-building prowess.

Keep building, keep dreaming... And don't let your wallet see your LEGO wishlist.

Verdict: IMPORT ONLY. Not in Indian stores — grey market or wait.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
