Giant LEGO Ship Donated: Is This Brick Masterpiece Heading to India?

A LEGO ship the size of a small car has been built and donated to a charity. That's the headline. The builder, Isaiah Durand, spent an unspecified amount of time and bricks on this behemoth. We don't have a set number for this one, which means it's likely a custom MOC (My Own Creation). This is important because it means you can't just pop down to the nearest store and pick one up.

The ship, described as "gigantic," was donated to Creations for Charity. This is a US-based non-profit that provides LEGO sets to children in need. It's a noble cause, no doubt. What's more interesting for us here in India is whether something of this scale could even be replicated or acquired. Custom builds like this often involve sourcing thousands of individual bricks, which can be a logistical and financial headache.

Durand is a well-known ship builder in the LEGO community. His work has been displayed in museums before. This particular creation is no different in terms of its intricate detail and sheer size. The article mentions it's a "ship builder to museum exhibitor" journey. We can only imagine the brick count. Think thousands. Maybe tens of thousands.

No Indian store prices are available for this custom build, naturally. Sourcing the bricks for a project like this would likely cost upwards of ₹50,000, possibly much more depending on the colours and specific parts needed. That's enough for a decent vacation or a high-end smartphone. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the places to check for individual LEGO bricks if you ever felt inspired to build your own fleet. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. For a custom build of this magnitude, expect a significant investment in time and money, far beyond a typical retail set.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
