Final Fantasy X Turns 25: Tidus, Yuna, and Valefor Get LEGO Tributes

Final Fantasy X turns 25. That means you’ve been staring at Tidus’s ridiculous hair for a quarter-century. Yes, the game dropped back in 2001, the same year Bionicle arrived to dominate toy aisles. To mark this momentous occasion, fan builder Kevin Wanner, also known as Brick Ninja, has crafted some incredible LEGO tributes.

Wanner has focused on Yuna, one of the game's co-protagonists, and her first Aeon summon, the majestic Valefor. The Valefor build is particularly impressive, making clever use of the Thunder Bird head piece from the LEGO Fantastic Beasts line. It’s a spot-on recreation, capturing the creature’s imposing presence with plastic bricks. This isn't Wanner's first rodeo with Final Fantasy; he's been building tributes to the series for years.

The Brothers Brick, where this MOC was featured, also rounded up some of Wanner's other Final Fantasy creations. For fans who want to build something themselves, Wanner even offers free instructions for a LEGO Chocobo. It’s a fantastic gesture, allowing anyone to bring a piece of Spira into their own home.

Unfortunately, these are MOCs, not official LEGO sets. So, don't expect to find these on store shelves anytime soon. There are no official LEGO sets based on Final Fantasy X currently available, nor are there any rumored to be in the pipeline. This means you can’t just walk into a store and pick up Yuna or Valefor.

If these were official LEGO sets, expect them to land with a price tag that would make your player-vs-monster savings account weep. With no official sets, there are no Indian store prices yet, which means we are in that particular purgatory where you want it but cannot fully panic yet. If these were officially sold in India, the Valefor MOC alone would likely cost more than 15 months of Spotify Premium.
