Build Your Own Giant LEGO Pine Tree with New Instructions

Your wallet can breathe easy this week. LEGO has not announced a new, soul-crushingly expensive UCS set. Instead, for those who like their nature with a side of plastic bricks, BrickNerd has released instructions for building an upscaled LEGO pine tree. This isn't a direct LEGO product release, mind you. Think of it more as a fan-driven initiative, complete with official-looking instructions, that you can follow to construct a much larger version of the classic LEGO pine tree element.

The original LEGO pine tree is a familiar sight in many LEGO city and winter village scenes. It’s a simple, iconic design that has graced countless MOCs and official sets for years. Now, thanks to BrickNerd and BrickJournal, you can build a significantly larger version. The instructions are available online through BrickNerd’s website, and also featured in the latest issue of BrickJournal magazine. This means you have two convenient ways to access the guide, depending on your preference for digital or physical media.

What does "upscaled" mean in this context? While the exact dimensions and piece count aren't provided in the announcement, the implication is a tree considerably larger than the standard LEGO offering. This suggests a model that could serve as a striking centerpiece for a larger LEGO display, a standalone decorative piece, or perhaps a foundation for an ambitious winter village expansion. Building such a model would likely require sourcing a substantial number of green bricks, potentially in various shades for added realism, and the instructions will guide you through the process.

The availability of these instructions is a boon for LEGO builders looking to customize their displays beyond what official sets offer. It taps into the creative spirit of the LEGO community, allowing fans to replicate and scale up beloved elements. This is the kind of community-driven content that keeps the hobby fresh and exciting, offering new ways to interact with the brick.

No official Indian pricing or availability information exists for this fan-generated instruction set, as it's not a purchasable LEGO product. However, if you were to source the bricks independently for a substantial build of this nature, expect costs to vary wildly based on brick availability and colour choices. This is roughly the cost of 10 large boxes of your favourite instant noodles, but with significantly more structural integrity. You’ll need to keep an eye on Toycra and MyBrickHouse for bulk brick purchases. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

This project offers a fantastic opportunity for builders to engage with a familiar LEGO icon in a new way. Whether you plan to build a towering forest of these upscaled trees or just one majestic specimen, the provided instructions should make the process achievable. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most exciting LEGO projects come directly from the community itself, not just the factory floor. On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.
