LEGO Spider-Man vs. Hulk Epic Clash (76350): Worth ₹9,999?

Your wallet just took a beating. LEGO announced 76350 Spider-Man vs. Hulk Epic Clash, and the price is frankly absurd. For £79.99, $89.99, or €89.99, you get 534 pieces. That’s nearly 17 cents per brick, a number that should make you pause. And honestly, after looking at what’s inside, you should probably keep pausing.

This set is a prime example of minifigures carrying a model that simply doesn’t stand up on its own. The selection of characters here is genuinely brilliant, a real highlight for any Spider-Man fan. We get a brand new Spider-Man in his "Brand New Day" suit, and it’s a cracker. The updated spider symbol, the blue detailing on the torso, the printed arms, and those dual-moulded legs all look superb. It’s a shame he doesn’t come with web accessories, but the included climbing parts are a decent substitute.

Then there’s the Hulk. This version is similar to recent releases, with the olive green skin and separate head and hair pieces. His gritted-teeth expression is new, and the torn reddish-brown trousers are also unique, apparently based on concept art. It’s a solid Hulk, even if the trousers look a bit darker on screen.

The villains are where this set really shines, though. Mac Gargan as Scorpion gets a detailed armoured suit in greens and greys, with nice silver scratches and bolts. The brighter green for reflective metal is a great touch, and his tan head with facial hair and scar is well-done. The articulated mechanical tail, attached via a jetpack element, is a cohesive part of the suit. Boomerang, a lesser-known foe, is included in his dark blue outfit. While a separate helmet might have been nice, the printed head works, and the boomerang designs on the suit are a neat detail. Tarantula also makes an appearance, in dark red and black with detailed torso and legs. The mask looks great and could be versatile. Boomerang comes with boomerangs, and Tarantula has poison-tipped… well, something. It’s a fantastic ensemble of characters.

But then you look at the actual build. And that’s where the problems begin. The set includes a hot dog cart and a park, which look nice enough. But the main building structure? Bland, ugly, and frankly, fragile. The destruction feature is dull. There’s little interior detail. It’s a shame that after spending so much on the minifigures, the actual model feels like an afterthought. It’s like ordering a gourmet biryani and getting plain rice on the side.

The price point is the biggest killer. At nearly 17 cents per piece, this is already on the high side. But when you consider the quality of the build, it’s downright insulting. You're paying a premium for those excellent minifigures, and the rest of the set feels like filler. It’s a shame, because a good chunk of the characters are fantastic. The design choices for the main building are questionable, and the play features are uninspired. It’s hard to recommend this at full price, especially when you can get better value elsewhere.

If you’re a die-hard Spider-Man completist and absolutely need these specific minifigures, then perhaps you might consider it. But for anyone else, this set is a hard pass. Save your money, or wait for a significant sale, which is unlikely given the price and the quality.
