LEGO Icons Road Bike (11380): Worth ₹12,999?

ByAbhinav Bhargav·Founder, Bricks of India·Published 21 July 2026·Updated 26 July 2026

Your wallet just got a gentle nudge, not a full-blown panic attack, but a nudge nonetheless. The LEGO Icons Road Bike (11380) has landed, and while it’s not quite the five-figure monstrosity some of us were bracing for, it’s still a significant investment. The question isn't whether it's a good set, but whether it's a good buy right now in India, especially when you consider what else you could do with that kind of cash.

This is LEGO’s first proper, brick-built bicycle, and they’ve gone all out. Forget those tiny, pre-moulded bike accessories from years past; this is a substantial display piece. At 11380, it’s a hefty set, and it feels like it. The build process, according to New Elementary, is a journey through some interesting SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques and clever part usage. They highlight the frame construction, the intricate wheel assembly, and the surprisingly realistic handlebars. It’s not just a collection of grey and black bricks; it’s a carefully engineered replica.

The final model is described as visually striking. The colour scheme is classic road bike, and the scale allows for impressive detail. Think of the chain mechanism, the brake levers, even the texture on the tyres – all built from standard LEGO elements. This is where LEGO really shines: taking familiar pieces and assembling them in novel ways to create something that looks completely new. It’s proof of the versatility of the brick when applied by skilled designers. New Elementary seems particularly impressed with how the set manages to capture the sleekness of a real road bike, a feat that’s no small achievement in plastic.

However, the review also points out that it’s a display model, through and through. Don't expect to strap a minifigure on and go for a spin around the living room. This is a static display piece, meant to be admired from a distance. While the detail is high, the sheer size might make it a bit of a space hog. For some, that might be exactly what they want – a centrepiece that screams "LEGO expert." For others, it might be a bit too much of a good thing, especially given the price point.

In India, the LEGO Icons Road Bike (11380) is listed at ₹12,999 on both MyBrickHouse and Toycra. Use code ABHINAV12 for 12% off on orders above ₹500 at Toycra. That price point is equivalent to about 10kg of high-quality Alphonso mangoes during peak season, or roughly six months of Netflix Premium. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch.

So, should you buy it? The set itself seems to be a solid 4 out of 5. The build is engaging, the design is impressive, and it fills a niche that LEGO has largely ignored. But the price… that’s where the hesitation comes in. ₹12,999 is a serious chunk of change. While it’s not astronomically high for a large Icons set, it’s also not exactly pocket change. You could get several smaller, equally enjoyable sets for that amount, or save up for something even bigger. The value is there in terms of piece count and the quality of the build experience, but the sheer cost means it’s not an impulse purchase. It’s a considered buy. If you are a devoted fan of cycling, or a collector who appreciates unique, large-scale LEGO vehicles, this is undoubtedly a stellar addition to your display. But if you’re on the fence, or if your budget is tight, waiting for a potential sale or a price correction might be the smarter move. This isn't a set that's going anywhere quickly, so there's no immediate rush unless you absolutely must have it on day one.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.
