LEGO Icons 11387 Holiday House: Does this Winter Village set sing?

Your wallet is already humming a tune of caution, isn't it? LEGO Icons 11387 Holiday House arrives with a hefty MRP of ₹11,500, and while the Winter Village collection always tempts, this one demands serious consideration. It’s been a few years since we last had a proper house in the line-up, with the collection branching out into high streets, post offices, and even trains. This 2026 addition finally brings some much-needed residential charm back, and it’s a rather fancy one at that.

With 1,354 pieces, the Holiday House promises a substantial build. The inspiration behind this set is its strongest feature: the classic Christmas carol "Jingle Bells". This theme is woven throughout the build, from the one-horse open sleigh sub-build, complete with a cam mechanism for a trotting effect, to the abundance of Christmas trees. Building a dozen of these trees, using Wolverine claws for needles, is a repetitive task, but the end result adds to the festive atmosphere.

The house itself boasts an unusual footprint, achieved through clever use of hinge and wedge plates, and rounded plates for a unique curvature. The offset doors and windows, a half-stud difference, add a nice touch of architectural detail to the frontage. A standout feature is the large Victorian window, integrated seamlessly even across angled section seams thanks to hinge plates. The set also includes a printed doormat with "Oh what fun," another direct nod to the carol.

Inside, the details continue to impress. A gramophone and printed record pay homage to the original recording of "Jingle Bells," originally titled "The One-Horse Open Sleigh." Poinsettias and a familiar-looking blue train further enhance the festive decor. The interior construction, particularly on the upper floors, utilises SNOT bricks for a clean finish. Notably, the set incorporates a surprisingly rare part: the 2x2 wedge plate in dark green. This piece, especially the left-handed variant, is exceedingly scarce and commands a high price on the secondary market. Its inclusion here is a genuine treat for dedicated builders.

The set does come with a light brick, though it's less conspicuous than in some previous Winter Village sets. The minifigure count is not specified, which is a slight disappointment for a set at this price point, as the figures often add significant play value and display appeal to these seasonal builds. However, the focus here is clearly on the house and its intricate, carol-themed details.

The build experience is generally satisfying, despite the repetitive tree construction. The clever architectural elements and the sheer density of thematic references make it an engaging process. It’s a set that rewards attention to detail and a love for the holiday season. While it might not be the most groundbreaking build in the Winter Village’s history, it’s a solid, charming addition that captures the spirit of Christmas perfectly.

Official LEGO India MRP ₹11,500. If this were officially sold in India, it would cost roughly the same as 18 months of Netflix Premium. LEGO.in and Toycra will likely stock it, but no live prices are available yet. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch.

This set is a strong contender for fans of the Winter Village collection and those who appreciate thematic builds. The inclusion of rare parts and the detailed "Jingle Bells" narrative elevate it beyond a simple holiday house. However, the high MRP means it’s not an impulse purchase. It’s a set that’s best admired for its design and thematic execution, and one that might require patience for a potential price drop or a good deal to become a must-buy.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.
