LEGO Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457): Worth ₹76,500?

The LEGO Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457) is here, and your wallet is already bracing for impact. Ten thousand pieces. Five feet long. This is not a model you casually pick up; it’s a statement piece that demands space and a significant financial commitment. The official Indian MRP is ₹76,500, which is enough to make you reconsider your life choices, or at least your monthly grocery budget.

This UCS model is substantially larger than its 2011 predecessor, 10221, and the proportions are much more accurate to the ship seen on screen. The sheer scale is its greatest strength, giving it an incredible presence. When you look at it, you feel the might of the Empire. The detail level is good for the most part, with some genuinely extraordinary engineering holding this behemoth together. Building it is a satisfyingly complex process, as you’d expect from a set of this size.

The minifigure selection is surprisingly generous for a UCS set, which usually skimps on these. You get seven figures and a dedicated diorama. Darth Vader is as imposing as ever, with printed arms and legs and a clever two-piece helmet that reveals his scarred face. The bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back are all here: Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, IG-88, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM. Bossk, in particular, is a standout with dual-moulded arms and legs and wonderfully detailed printing. It’s great to see the full crew assembled. IG-88, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM are also well-executed, capturing their unique looks. The included diorama adds a nice touch, giving context to the minifigures and the ship.

However, size can also be a problem. Displaying this model is going to be a challenge for most people. It’s enormous, and the underside details are rather lacklustre, which is a shame given the overall quality. Admiral Piett is conspicuously absent, which feels like a missed opportunity for a set focused on the Executor. The box design itself is a bit odd, stretching the ship across two sides in a way that might make it look like a regular Star Destroyer at first glance.

Despite these minor gripes, the Executor Super Star Destroyer is an impressive display piece. The build is engaging, the minifigures are excellent, and the accuracy to the source material is commendable. It’s a set for the dedicated Star Wars fan who has the space and the budget.

This is a set that will undoubtedly be a centrepiece for any collection. The build experience is solid, and the final model is stunning. But that price point? It’s a serious barrier. For that reason, while it’s an amazing set, it’s hard to recommend buying it at full price immediately. Waiting for a sale or considering the import situation might be the smarter play here.
