This set brings fan-favourite Gengar into the brick world, alongside the ever-lovable Cubone, all set in a graveyard battleground.

The box art itself sets a wonderfully spooky mood with twisted trees and haunting moonlight, though a large yellow 'SMART Brick compatible' strip does interrupt the aesthetic a bit. Inside, you get 7 paper bags, an envelope with 4 build books, and an electronic waste leaflet. No stickers, which is always a win. The rear of the box highlights the set's action features and hints at SMART brick integration for interactive play.

The completed model is dominated by a large Gengar, towering over a smaller Cubone, thanks to a built-up stone platform that looks like a mausoleum. Gengar's design, while initially looking a bit strange in promotional images, makes sense when viewed as a large brick-built creature. The construction is a straightforward layering of bricks and plates, with Technic axles for structural integrity. Gengar feels substantial, and a simple side-to-side lever mechanism cleverly moves its tongue – a foolproof and effective play feature. The spiny texture is achieved with slopes and cones, fitting together remarkably seamlessly.

Cubone, while much smaller, is equally well-executed. It features new arm pieces with hand clips, allowing its bone club to be posed naturally. The wider leg stance is a nice touch, successfully integrating SMART brick compatibility without compromising stability. Printed 1x1 cheese slopes add detail to its toes, and new arch pieces over printed curves form the skull's eye-holes. The rear spikes look a bit unusual, but that’s likely because they’re rarely seen in media. The brick-built bone club is a solid design choice over a pre-existing piece.

The mausoleum itself is a geometrically simple but decorative build, featuring Poké Ball targets. Hitting the back targets causes the support columns to fall back, adding a fun interactive element. The Ultra Ball included uses printed yellow 1x3 curved slopes, with rich black printing that ensures no yellow peeks through. It’s a bit alarming to see the 6L bars as extra pieces, though.

The build experience is described as fun, with both Pokémon looking great and offering good playability.
