LEGO BMW M3 (E30) (77263): Worth ₹2,900?

ByAbhinav Bhargav·Founder, Bricks of India·Published 2 August 2026·Updated 3 August 2026

Your wallet just got a notification. It's about the new LEGO BMW M3 (E30). At ₹2,900, this isn't a casual impulse buy; it's a considered purchase for the dedicated fan. Speed Champions usually hits a sweet spot, but this one feels like a bit of a mixed bag.

BMW's presence in Speed Champions has been surprisingly sparse. This 77263 model, the M3 (E30), had big shoes to fill, and the designer clearly put in a solid effort. The build itself offers some genuinely clever techniques, which is always a win. What's particularly impressive is the sheer amount of brick-built details and printed elements. LEGO managed to avoid stickers for most of the complex livery, which is a massive relief. The bonnet and roof are entirely printed, which makes the classic BMW kidney grilles stand out, even if the silver trim is missing and the trans-yellow headlights are a tad oversized. The anniversary livery applied with 1x2 jumper plates and printed slopes looks sharp. Even the angled bonnet adds a nice touch, preventing the car from looking too blocky.

Then there's the minifigure. It sports a shirt matching the car's livery, complete with a racing number on the back. A real-life version of this shirt is apparently coming out, which is a neat tie-in, though the long sleeves look a bit odd. The hairpiece is a cool magenta, not seen in a new set for a while. However, the inclusion of a wrench feels a bit pointless since there are no accessible wheel inserts to remove.

But here's where the M3 (E30) stumbles. Recreating the subtle, rounded curves of the real M3 at this scale is a monumental task, and the model doesn't quite nail it. The bodywork shape has issues, especially around the front wheel arches. The angular edges are quite apparent from the side, and while the windscreen shape is close, it's not perfect. The new wheels, presumably designed for this set, are also a bit of a miss. They don't accurately reflect the M3's iconic wheels, with sidewalls that should be thicker and spokes that are off. It makes you wonder if these new wheel elements were truly the best choice for this specific car.

There's even a bit of detail under the bonnet, which is unusual for Speed Champions. It looks accurate thanks to a sticker, but with no way to open the bonnet without taking the car apart, it feels like a slightly useless feature.

In India, the LEGO BMW M3 (E30) has an official MRP of ₹2,900. While not available yet, expect Toycra and MyBrickHouse to list it within 4–6 weeks of the global launch. Use code ABHINAV12 for 12% off on orders above ₹500 at Toycra. That's about the same price as 10 months of Spotify Premium.

For ₹2,900, you're getting a decent build experience with some standout printed elements and clever techniques. However, the inaccuracies in the car's shape and the questionable wheels hold it back from being a must-buy. It’s a good set, especially if you're a fan of BMW or Speed Champions, but the price point combined with the design compromises means it's wise to wait for a potential discount.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.
