LEGO AT-RT Attack (75444): Worth ₹4,999?

Not every Star Wars set needs to cost as much as a used scooter. The LEGO AT-RT Attack (75444) is refreshingly modest in scale — a Clone Wars walker and a small squad, nothing that requires a second mortgage to enjoy.

This set brings us the AT-RT walker, a common sight in the Clone Wars era, along with a couple of Clone Troopers and a Battle Droid. The AT-RT itself looks pretty decent for its size. It’s got posable legs, which is always a win for playability. You can recreate those iconic scenes of clones scouting out enemy territory, or just have it stand guard in your display. It’s not going to win any awards for groundbreaking design, but it captures the essence of the vehicle well enough. The articulation is functional, allowing for some dynamic poses without being overly complicated.

The minifigure selection is where this set really shines for its price point. You get two Clone Troopers, and crucially, they appear to be the standard phase II troopers that collectors love. Having two of them means you can actually field a small squad, which is far more satisfying than getting just one. They come with blasters, ready for action. The inclusion of a Battle Droid is also a nice touch, providing a clear antagonist for your troopers. While it’s not a massive army builder, it offers a good starting point for those looking to populate their Clone Wars battle scenes.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the price. At ₹4,999, this set is definitely on the pricier side for what you get. We’re looking at a relatively small build with a few minifigures. While the Clone Troopers are a big draw, the overall piece count doesn't scream value for money. You're paying a premium for the Star Wars license and the specific minifigures. If you’re a die-hard Clone Wars fan and need that AT-RT and those troopers, then perhaps the price is justifiable for you. But for the average builder looking for a good deal, it might feel a bit steep.

Is it a bad set? Absolutely not. The AT-RT is a solid build, and the minifigures are desirable. The play experience is good, especially for younger builders or those who enjoy recreating specific battle scenarios. However, the value proposition is questionable. LEGO Star Wars sets often come with a significant markup, and this one feels no different. There will likely be sales or discounts down the line, especially during major shopping festivals or as the set ages. Patience might be rewarded here.

In India, the LEGO AT-RT Attack (75444) is available at both LEGO.in and Toycra for ₹4,999. That’s enough to buy roughly 25kg of good quality rice, or about two full tanks of petrol for a compact car. LEGO.in | Toycra. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500.

Compared to other LEGO Star Wars sets in this price bracket, it’s hard to definitively say it’s a must-buy right now. If you can find it on sale, it becomes a much more attractive proposition. Otherwise, waiting for a discount seems like the sensible approach. It’s a good set, but not necessarily a great value at its current retail price. For those who absolutely must have it, go ahead. But if you’re looking to maximize your brick for your buck, sit this one out for now.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

At review, it was priced at ₹4,999 on LEGO.in and Toycra. Verdict: WAIT.

Standard disclaimer: rich readers can skip the verdict and just buy it. We'll be over here checking if LEGO.in's HDFC EMI discount makes this hurt less.
