LEGO PlayStation Set (72306) Drops With October Releases

LEGO.com has unleashed a fresh wave of sets for October, and among them is the much-anticipated 72306 PlayStation set. This release joins other notable additions like the annual Winter Village set, two new LEGO Ideas sets, and the colossal UCS Executor Super Star Destroyer.

The PlayStation set, catalogued as 72306, carries a significant price tag. While global pricing sits at £139.99 / $179.99 / €159.99, its official Indian MRP is set at ₹17,000. This positions it as a premium collectible, likely aimed at dedicated fans of both LEGO and the iconic gaming brand. The source article does not detail the set's piece count or specific build features, but its release alongside other major sets suggests it’s a substantial model.

Alongside the PlayStation set, other significant releases include the Bookshop: Book Nook, Holiday House, Wallace & Gromit, and Downton Abbey. The article also highlights promotional items: the 40897 Darth Vader's Lightsaber is a gift with purchase for the Executor Super Star Destroyer until October 7th, and the 40899 Astro Bot is free with orders over £135 / $150 / €150 during the same period. This means early birds might snag extra goodies with their PlayStation set purchase, provided they meet the spending threshold.

The immediate availability of these sets at LEGO.com is a welcome change from some previous launches that saw items quickly go on back-order, as noted by some commenters regarding the Wallace & Gromit set. However, the absence of immediate live store prices in India for the PlayStation set means fans will have to wait a bit longer for potential deals.

Official Indian pricing hasn't been announced yet. The official LEGO India MRP is ₹17,000, but no live store prices are available from LEGO.in or Toycra yet. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch. ₹17,000 is enough to buy 17kg of premium Alphonso mangoes, or about five months of a family Netflix subscription.

Given the high MRP and the fact that it's a new release with no immediate store discounts, it’s wise to hold off for now. The price point suggests a detailed and possibly large model, but without further information or initial reviews, caution is advised. Waiting for potential sales or bundles, especially around holiday seasons, would be the smarter move for Indian fans.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
